This guy doesn’t deserve to be a professor. He insulted me for pointing out a mistake he made. I argued with him for a week before he corrected a grading mistake he made, and boy does he make an awful lot of those. Almost as if they are intentional. I was very close to reporting him to the school until he corrected the grade. His directions are incredibly unclear. Get ready for him to take points away from you when you have no idea why. He doesn’t clarify his directions before the assignment and basically expects you to know his syllabus off the top of your head. I got an A- for the semester and a 100 on the final project and never got positive feedback from him. I’ve gotten perfect scores on his assignments and he still only finds snarky negative comments to make. He was so rude to me I wanted to set up a meeting in person (I took his online class) to see if he would have the courage to speak to me that way face to face. Something tells me he wouldn’t. Don’t take his class, he deserves to be fired.

I have in 30 years as a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps taken many Ethics courses mandated by law while in uniform and out. The courses were provided by some of the finest actual professors, with law degrees . I have never failed a course and some of them were extremely difficult. I have worked with companies such as GE Aircraft Engines, Pratt&Whitney, Boeing and have represented all branches of the US military as a technical advisor for multi million dollar contract administration. I know my ethics. Mr. McGowan, clearly lacks on several fronts including but not limited to clearly defining course objectives, positive feedback, ad hoc and arbitrary changing of his rules to suit his needs. He also has been known to penalize students after he solicits their opinions and are in disagreement with his own OPINION, as opposed to facts. He should not punishing his students that are trying to learn because he or she had a different opinion. Facts are a separate matter. He is not proactive by any definition of the word. I could do a better job than he.
